An illustration of engineering, planning and software coming together

My background includes engineering, project delivery, web development, and building products. These areas use different tools, but each asks how a system should work under real constraints.

Earlier engineering work involved teams, budgets, procurement, and delivery. Software adds another way to organise information and make a process clearer.

Data was part of the path

My MSc research involved computational modelling, satellite data analysis, and optimisation. The research combined AMSR2 and MODIS images with in situ measurements to estimate soil moisture.

The paper, “Estimating Regional Soil Moisture with Synergistic Use of AMSR2 and MODIS Images,” was published in Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing in 2021. The title and research context also appear on my LinkedIn profile.

Business context changes the implementation

A feature needs a reason to exist. Understanding the workflow helps decide what to build and which complications can wait.

Blinkr brings that question into product development. Ncode applies it to learning and software work. Neither project benefits from a technical solution that misses the practical need.

Follow the connections

The journey page explores these connections without treating the path as a straight line. Some of the work happened in parallel, and the experience continues to inform what I build.
